Excel Boat Company is seeking a CNC Router Operator for its Union City, TN, plant. Our boats are built tough, and our fit and finish are first-class. Our specialty is bay, bass, walleye, salmon, duck hunting, and crappie fishing boats. We are growing rapidly and are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and growth-minded individuals who will be excited to work in a team environment and build the best boats in the industry. We take great pride in what we do and look to hire those who share this same commitment. 
Router table operators/helpers cut machine parts from raw aluminum material that are programmed via the engineering department. Router table operators are responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining their machines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Operate router tables and cut boats to meet variable production goals.
Program routers by accessing the proper programs. Initiate startup sequences, set plate heights and max depths, and set proper “homes” on machines.
Know how to read calipers for measuring plate thickness and use a tape measure frequently.
Work with the engineering department when troubleshooting issues with machines and/or nesting/parts programs.
Operate shear.
Certified in forklift and crane operation.
Assist in offloading trucks when metal deliveries occur.
Clear parts off router tables and organize them on racks appropriately.
Assist in hull bending operations.
Keep the department clean and organized.
Use overhead crane for material handling onto routers.
Perform tool changing operations on tables and maintenance on machines.
Understand basic functions of a computer (windows OS).
Able to cut all boat models unsupervised.
Know all table planning procedures and MDF board swaps, all hull cutting procedures, and all basic functions of router tables.
Troubleshoot tables when something goes wrong.
Do tool cleaning and tool changing procedures.
Attention to detail on material size, and thickness.
Work under stress without messing up in a fast paced, repetitive environment.
Able to lift heavy parts off of tables and while bending hulls, including press brake tooling.
Read work orders to cut correct nests for each boat.
Load and unload parts carts and push them around the factory.
Prioritize all machine downtime and order of cutting nests to maximize production.
Required Skills

Read a tape measure, understand fractions, simple math-addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
Capable of using hand tools and power tools.
Maintain connection and communication among other employees and management.
Conceptual skills, process improvement, verbal communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, supply management, tooling coordination, inventory control, attention to detail and judgment.
Recognize acceptable and unacceptable product quality, personal behavior, and productivity and are capable of carrying out step by step instructions.
Lead by example; build a team that can rely on each other and can function if the supervisor is not there. Train each employee in your department to do their job if you are not there. Be competitive with the rest of the factory and consistently outperform your previous day's results. Be a role model for others: have a positive attitude, keep your area and tools clean and organized, encourage your team.
Preferred Qualifications

Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Capable of standing all day, no sitting down on job; repetitive use of hands and arms. Ability to walk, climb, balance, twist, turn, grasp, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May need to work intermittently from a ladder.
Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently. When bending hulls need to be able to lift or move upward of 75 pounds, or collectively 250 pounds. Capable of lifting 50-75 pounds over the shoulder and outward frequently.
Ability to work in a cold and hot work environment.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Great socialization and communication with management, other department leads, and coworkers.
High school or GED graduate preferred.
CNC router, plasma, laser, press brakes (or other brake) operator experience preferred.
General machine shop experience is preferred.
Fabrication experience is preferred.
Forklift/crane experience is preferred.
