Management Analyst II /Part-Time

Location: Thomas Collins Building
540 S. DuPont Highway
Dover, DE 19901

Hourly Rate: $24.67/hour

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Up to 29.75 hours per week

The State of Delaware is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to serve as a Management Analyst II. This position plays an important role in reviewing public assistance cases, analyzing data, conducting preliminary investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and program requirements.

What You'll Do

As a Management Analyst II, you will:

  • Conduct preliminary reviews of public assistance cases to determine compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and program guidelines.
  • Evaluate case information and state-provided data to determine whether cases should be referred for further investigation or closed based on established criteria.
  • Research, collect, verify, and organize documentation necessary to support investigations and case decisions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to track investigations, case status, findings, and outcomes.
  • Utilize agency databases, automated systems, and case management tools to review, document, and manage case activity.
  • Analyze investigative findings and prepare accurate, well-organized narrative reports summarizing research, evidence, and recommendations.
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and program standards to ensure consistent and accurate case evaluations.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring further review through data analysis and research.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least six months of experience interpreting laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or program standards to evaluate cases or determine compliance.
  • Experience preparing detailed narrative reports that clearly document investigative findings and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including maintaining tracking spreadsheets, organizing data, and generating reports.
  • Experience using automated databases, electronic case management systems, or similar software applications.
  • Excellent organizational, written communication, and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
