Statement of PurposeÂ
The Supervisor provides clinical, administrative, and operational oversight of assigned staff and program activities. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Supervisor is responsible for providing direct service, coordinating daily program operations, supporting staff performance and development, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and promoting effective, ethical, and clientcentered care.Â
Major Tasks, Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
Performs and/or delegates the responsibilities in this job description as appropriate.Â
Assists Program Director with oversight and operation of the program and is as needed capacity.Â
Provide supervision, training, and/or development of staff, interns, and volunteers within their scope of practice.Â
May be responsible for minimum caseload including group and individual servicesÂ
Conduct comprehensive behavioral health screening, care planning, and treatment activities.Â
Assures that documentation is timely and meets contract, licensing, certification and other required standards. Reviews client files for accurate and timely documentation as well as appropriate application of program services to meet client needs.Â
Participates in public relations, networking, and/or community partnership activities, including community education, referral sources and resources, cooperative relationships with other service providers as appropriate based on the needs of the program and/or clients served. Â
Assists in maintaining BHS visibility in the community, including attending appropriate meetings and functions.Â
Provides leadership and serves as a positive role model to staff and clients.Â
Provides input into the development and maintenance of protocols, schedules, policies, and procedures.Â
Participates in and/or facilitates human resources actions such as performance evaluation, recruiting, hire, discharge, and disciplinary actions. Take part in and document any actions taken.Â
Ensures proper and economical use of staff, equipment, supplies, and facilities, including monitoring, reviewing, and approving timecards.Â

Prerequisite QualificationsÂ
The following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.Â
Bilingual abilities may be required within certain BHS programs.Â
Minimum of high school diploma orequivalency.Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred. AA degree plus related experience in lieu of degree.Certified bya state-recognizedsubstance usecounselorcertificationbody, withat least5years of substance use experience, and/or master's degree with BBS registration and/or licensure in MFT, MSW, or PCC with at least 2 years of substance use treatment or community mental health experience.Â
Knowledge of County, Federal and State program standards. Experience with accreditation and certification preferred. Knowledge of substance use, mental health, recovery, and family systems required. Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment is required.Â
Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle on BHS business.Â
Obtain NPI number, EMR system enrollment within30 daysof employment.Â
Ability to operate required computer programs for position, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, electronic timekeeping system, electronic learning management system, upon hire.Â
Able to stand, stoop, bend, squat and reach for purpose of performing job duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing, lifting and assisting in emergency situations.  Routinely lift and move items weighing up to ten pounds and occasionally up to twenty-five pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use a dolly or cart for any heavy items.  Vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for the performance of job duties.  Able to sit at a desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties. Able to move about the facility to observe clients and staff.Â
