Job description

This role is responsible for confidently owning the business. Overseeing how product comes to life in the store from back of house to the sales floor, ensuring strong execution and an elevated customer experience. From shipment arrival to merchandising the sales floor, you deliver a best-in-class customer experience. You balance the art and science of driving the business, equally thoughtful about the product, people, and results, and bring a fresh perspective to how the store operates and shows up for customers. You help present a compelling store environment through visual merchandising that is the embodiment of the Everlane ethos and aesthetic IRL. You are passionate about developing others and working closely with your Store Leader as a collaborative partner. You are business-minded, proactive in identifying risks and opportunities, and focused on improving productivity to drive results. You motivate a team of product-enthusiasts to exceed goals, manage store expenses, and you see the store as if it was your home, initiating any physical upkeep.

As an Assistant Store Leader, you:

  • Act as a key-decision maker in the absence of the Store Leader, confidently leading the business and team with strategic decision-making 
  • Identify opportunities in the business and take the initiative to collaborate with the Store Leader to propose and execute solutions 
  • Contribute to store strategy and planning for all aspects of the business 
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning through engaging training, in-the-moment coaching, and 1:1's to build team confidence and skill
  • Apply skill and experience from relevant roles to new situations and create opportunities for self and others to develop 

Your day to day:

  • Leverage business results to make real-time decisions that drive the customer experience
  • Lead the in-store customer journey bringing our service model to life while providing direction and feedback to the entire team
  • Get the most out of your team and resources, finding flexibility in the day to to get work done, and holding yourself and others accountable for communication and completion
  • Map and plan new launches on a weekly and monthly basis; use business insight, resources, and feedback to inform store flow and merchandising decisions
  • Lead and execute monthly product flow and assortment adjustments by focusing on key volume drivers to maximize business and productivity
  • Execute and maintain the store's presentation standards and lead applicable training and coaching opportunities
  • Drive inventory integrity through managing in-store processes and procedures
  • Oversee in-store replenishment processes, size integrity on the sales floor, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve sell-through 
  • Communicate supply procurement needs and oversee in-store technology and facility maintenance

  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Visual merchandising experience with an eye for detail and brand storytelling
  • A passion for coaching and developing people, especially early-career talent
  • A sense of curiosity with the confidence to bring forward new ideas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build fast and effective relationships with the rest of your store team
  • Strong organization skills and are excited about the details
  • A proven track record of hiring, leading and developing effective store teams

What is expected of you

  • Must bend, reach, and stretch for product, as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must regularly move around all areas of the store and be accessible to customers

At Everlane, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The hourly pay range for this role is $27.00 - $36.00.
