The Studio Karaoke

Memphis, TN

$15 - $25/hr

Full-time, Part-time

Posted 10 days ago

Job description

About The Studio Karaoke: The Studio Karaoke will be Memphis’s only private suite karaoke entertainment center. Located in Poplar Plaza, The Studio offers a unique and exciting experience with private karaoke rooms reserved by the hour, and a limited food & beverage menu. We’re looking for positive, reliable, and professional individuals to join our founding service team.

Position Overview: As a Karaoke Suite Host at The Studio, you’re more than a server - you’re a hospitality-focused joy curator. You will guide guests through their private-suite karaoke experience with warmth, fun, and exceptional service.

You play a leading role in delivering an unforgettable guest experience. You’ll welcome guests, help explain how the karaoke experience works, take and deliver food and beverage orders, and ensure each room is clean, stocked, and ready for the next celebration. You’ll do everything you can to help keep the vibes going from the moment guests arrive until they sing their final note.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serving & Customer Service: Make reservations, greet and welcome guests, explain how the karaoke system works, take and deliver food and drink orders with accuracy, and ensure that guests are satisfied throughout their visit.
  • Room Maintenance & Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness, sanitization, and comfort of the karaoke rooms and lobby area, ensuring rooms are ready for the next group of guests.
  • Technology: Accurately process payments, operate the point-of-sale system, and assist guests with basic karaoke system support as needed.
  • Menu Knowledge & Recommendations: Stay knowledgeable about the drink menu and signature cocktails, offering recommendations and upselling when appropriate to enhance the guest experience.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other FOH staff, BOH staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service.
  • Operational Support: Jump in where needed whether it’s supporting another suite host or supporting BOH food and beverage staff to keep service flowing seamlessly.
  • Attendance: Consistent and reliable attendance.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • You’re dependable, energetic, professional, and bring a positive attitude to every shift.
  • You communicate clearly and proactively, handle challenges with grace, and love making someone’s day.
  • You’re flexible and team-focused, open to learning different parts of the business as needed.
  • You’re comfortable with technology, quick to learn new systems, and operate our karaoke equipment with confidence.
  • You’re excited to help build something from the ground up. In a startup, things evolve quickly, and you're eager to adapt, pitch in, and grow alongside the business.
  • You hold a valid Tennessee ABC server permit, have reliable transportation, and a working phone.
  • You can stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Compensation: $15-25/hour (base salary + tips)

Job Type: This role can be part-time or full-time. The Studio Karaoke is an at-will employer and an equal-opportunity employer.

We’re more interested in your attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn than any number of years of experience.
