The Wanderers Club is a casual, multi-generational private golf and country club in the heart of the equestrian community of Wellington, Florida. The Club's full array of amenities and services are centered around families, sports and the equestrian lifestyle found only in Wellington. We serve a vibrant community of over 500 member families in areas ranging from golf, racquet, and swimming to childcare, events, and dining.


OVERVIEW

The Events Sales & Programming Manager is responsible for driving private event revenue, delivering exceptional member programming, and ensuring seamless planning and execution of club events. This role oversees the full lifecycle of private events-from inquiry and contracting through planning and event execution-while also leading the development of creative member programming that enhances the club experience.


The department manages approximately $1.7M in annual event revenue, including $1M in private events and $700K in club programming, and plays a key role in expanding outside event revenue while maintaining strong event margins and exceptional member satisfaction.


This role reports to the Clubhouse Manager and works closely with the Events Coordinator, Chef, F&B Operations team, and Marketing Associate to deliver outstanding events.


The successful candidate will balance the responsibilities of growing a vibrant private event business while creating memorable member experiences that strengthen the value of membership.


Requirements

Private Event Sales & Revenue Growth

Prospect, develop, and close private event business including weddings, corporate functions, member celebrations, nonprofit ย ย ย galas, and community events.

Generate new business through venue tours, referral partnerships, networking, and community engagement.

Manage the full client lifecycle including inquiries, proposals, contracts, planning meetings, and event execution.

Develop strategies to increase outside event revenue while optimizing the Club's event calendar and event space utilization.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and referral partners.


Event Planning, Programming & Execution

Oversee planning and execution of private events from contract through completion.

Lead planning for complex events while delegating smaller events to the Events Coordinator.

Serve as the primary client contact for major events and oversee day-of execution for high-profile functions.

Develop and execute member programming ranging from intimate gatherings to large signature events.

Plan, source, and execute decor and entertainment for Club-sponsored events and general seasonal themes.

Collaborate closely with Culinary, Food & Beverage Operations, Facilities, and Marketing to deliver exceptional experiences.

Ensure accurate event documentation, BEOs, and communication across departments.

Develop and maintain relationships with entertainment, decor, rental, and specialty event vendors.


Financial Performance & Process Management

Manage event contracts, pricing approvals, deposits, billing, and event financial performance.

Monitor revenue, margins, booking pace, attendance, and other key performance metrics.

Continuously improve departmental organization, planning systems, and communication processes.

Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements to pricing, programming, and sales strategies.


Leadership & Collaboration

Supervise and support the Events Coordinator, providing guidance on planning, logistics, and client communication.

Foster a collaborative, organized, and service-oriented department culture.

Participate as a member of the Club leadership team and contribute to cross-departmental planning, budgeting, and operational initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

3-5+ years of event sales, hospitality sales, club management, hotel catering sales, or related experience.

Strong client relationship and sales skills with the ability to close event business.

Exceptional organizational and planning ability with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Experience with TripleSeat and/or Jonas Club Management systems preferred.

Experience managing both event sales and event execution preferred.
