Job description

The Operations Manager is primarily responsible for driving the logistics and execution of events and relational projects for the Relational Experiences team. This role partners with the Director and Sr. Manager to ensure all experiences are delivered on time, on budget, and with excellence. The Operations Manager oversees events of all sizes, from small partner meetings to large-scale international Hub launches, by managing timelines, budgets, volunteers, logistics, and overall execution.
This role operationally supports the team's direction, initiatives, and ministry efforts to achieve outcomes that further Life.Church's mission and reach people for Christ.
What You'll Do
Plan & Execute Project Operations
  • Build and maintain detailed event timelines, tracking progress, communicating updates, and proactively identifying risks and deadlines.
  • Own the team's master event calendar and project management tools, ensuring visibility across all experiences and coordinating schedules with internal teams and external partners.
  • Support on-site event execution by coordinating setup, teardown, and logistics in partnership with relationship teams (Partnerships, Global Impact, Platform, Donor Relations, etc.)
  • Manage complex, multi-workstream projects across multiple stakeholders, ensuring alignment, progress, and on-time delivery within established timelines.

Manage Systems & Data
  • Coordinate and maintain team tools, templates, forms, processes, and documentation.
  • Oversee the end-to-end guest registration process, including workflows, on-site check-in, and attendee communication.
  • Manage CRM systems to ensure accurate data capture, maintenance, and usability; build and audit workflows to support registration, follow-up, and relationship tracking.

Oversee Logistics, Budget & Execution
  • Collect, analyze, and report on key event metrics, including attendance, engagement, budget performance, and operational outcomes, maintaining clean and organized records.
  • Manage operational budgets for events and gifting projects, including tracking expenses, processing invoices, reconciling actuals, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate ordering and fulfillment of supplies, materials, branded items, and gifts in partnership with the Sr. Manager, ensuring timely delivery for domestic and international events.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and supply records to support efficient operations.
  • Execute shipment of gifting experiences across YouVersion stakeholder lanes.
  • Lead volunteer coordination, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing on-site support for events and projects.

Skills Needed to Succeed
  • Maintain a systematic and organized approach to completing assignments accurately, thoroughly, and timely.
  • Effective at multi-tasking, time management, and follow-up to meet committed timelines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently.
  • Ability to self-motivate, take initiative, make independent decisions, and solve problems.
  • Ability to exercise financial responsibility and demonstrate a clear understanding for setting, following and managing a budget.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in event operations, project management, or logistics.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, registration systems, and project management tools.
  • Experience coordinating volunteers and supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
