Position Overview:

As a Lead Banquet Chef you will play a key role in executing banquet events from prep through service—right down to dessert and late-night snacks.

You’ll work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to coordinate kitchen operations, help guide the team during service, and ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and timing.

This role is hands-on and fast-paced, with the opportunity to take ownership of your station and contribute to the overall success of each event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute banquet menus for events ranging from small gatherings to large-scale functions
  • Take a lead role in managing stations and event flow during service
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented consistently and on schedule
  • Assist in coordinating prep, timing, and plating for events
  • Support and guide other kitchen team members during service
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and food safety
  • Assist with inventory, prep planning, and kitchen readiness
  • Communicate effectively with the banquet service team to ensure seamless execution

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen (banquet, catering, or high-volume preferred)
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques, timing, and execution under pressure
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision during service
  • Experience running a station or assisting in leading a shift
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Banquet or hotel kitchen experience
  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience
