Title: Maintenance Associate, Part-time (20 hrs./wk.)
Reports to: Facilities Director/Pastor
Location: Our Lady of light Parish |Fort Myers, FL

Classification:Nonexempt/Hourly

Overview

Our Lady of Light Catholic Community is seeking a dependable Part Time Facilities Associate to assist with the daily maintenance and operation of our parish campus. This position includes general maintenance, event setup and breakdown, light repairs, and supporting the overall care of parish buildings and grounds. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.


Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the maintenance and care of parish buildings, classrooms, offices, meeting spaces, and grounds.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, equipment, and furniture for parish events, meetings, liturgies, and ministry activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance including replacing light bulbs, HVAC filters, ceiling tiles, door hardware, restroom fixtures, and other minor repairs.
  • Assist with painting, pressure washing, basic carpentry, and preventative maintenance projects.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized buildings, storage areas, and outdoor spaces.
  • Assist with deliveries, furniture moves, and equipment transportation throughout campus.
  • Operate maintenance equipment and hand or power tools safely and responsibly.
  • Lock and secure parish facilities as assigned.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests.
  • Observe and promote safe work practices by following parish policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to parish staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, parishioners, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic maintenance or facilities experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, reach, and work indoors and outdoors.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Must pass Level II FDLE background check.
  • Must pass a Diocese assigned post offer physical examination.
