Job description

Why AssemblyAI

AssemblyAI builds the best-in-class Voice AI models powering the next generation of voice applications. Our models serve 600M+ inference calls monthly, process 1M+ hours of audio daily, and power 2 billion+ end-user experiences. The Voice AI space is at an inflection point; we're looking for folks truly excited to join a small team and help define the future of the industry.

We are one of the most capital-efficient AI companies on the planet - with under 100 people generating roughly $500K ARR per employee, we sit among the top 5 most revenue-dense teams within the fastest-growing AI companies today. That's not an accident; it's a deliberate choice to stay lean, move fast, and give every person on the team outsized ownership and impact. With thousands of customers including Granola, Fireflies, Figure AI, and CallRail, the company has real scale - processing over 2 million hours of audio daily and handling more than 1 million API calls every day. This is a rare growth-stage opportunity where the business is proven and the trajectory is steep, but the team is still small enough that your fingerprints are on everything.

If you've ever felt buried under layers of bureaucracy, starved of real ownership, or frustrated watching your work disappear into a slow-moving org, AssemblyAI is built differently. The company operates as a true meritocracy, with no heavy planning or approval processes and no gatekeeping on the tools or information you need. For anyone who genuinely cares about voice AI, not as a trend to chase, but as a technology to build, this is the place where the most interesting problems at the most interesting scale are being solved by a team small enough that you'll actually know everyone's name.

We're committed to creating a space where our employees can bring their full selves to work and have equal opportunity to succeed. No matter your race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, origin, ability, age, veteran status, if joining this mission speaks to you, we encourage you to apply!

About the Role

We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our San Francisco Office. This is a high-execution, broad-scope role for someone who is organized and ambitious, loves being in the room when things happen, and finds genuine satisfaction in making complex logistics look effortless. You'll be responsible for field marketing, community, campaign execution, and light office coordination. This is a role for someone who wants to become a strong marketing operator: the kind of person who can take a clear direction and turn it into reliable, organized action.

Why This Role Exists

We've opened a San Francisco office to strengthen our presence in the Voice AI market by expanding our field marketing programs. Sponsoring (and building campaigns around) third-party events, crafting executive dinners and experiences, and hosting community meetups are core to how we build relationships and awareness in our market — and these programs are growth channels, not just gatherings: they fill pipeline, activate developers on our products, and feed our launches.

We've reached the point where we need dedicated execution support on the ground in SF to run more of these programs — and to connect each one to the campaign work around it: the emails that fill the room, the follow-up that converts attendees, and the reporting that tells us what worked.

This role is a force multiplier for the marketing team. It frees up capacity to run a higher volume of events, grow our local community presence, and add execution support across campaigns, lifecycle, and growth programs.

What You'll DoCommunity & Event Support
  • Support email campaign execution—including list coordination, QA, asset organization, and execution follow-through
  • Contribute to recurring campaign workflows that keep marketing programs running smoothly and consistently
  • Assist with campaign setup and tracking across event, lifecycle, community, and brand work
  • Learn marketing tools like Iterable (or similar) and contribute to process improvement over time
Campaigns & Growth Marketing
  • Support email campaign execution—including list coordination, QA, asset organization, and execution follow-through for emails like events, Newsletters, and product launches
  • Contribute to recurring campaign workflows that keep marketing programs running smoothly and consistently
  • Assist with campaign setup and tracking across event, lifecycle, community, and brand work
  • Learn marketing tools like Iterable (or similar) and contribute to process improvement over time
  • Build simple post-event and post-campaign recaps so the team knows what worked and what to run back
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with field marketing, growth, lifecycle, community, and brand teammates to keep projects moving
  • Bring structure and follow-through to ambiguous situations—flag blockers, close loops, keep stakeholders informed
  • Operate comfortably in an environment where priorities move quickly and clear direction matters
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in a marketing, events, or operations role (internships and contract work count)
  • Strong organizational skills—you track tasks, details, and timelines without dropping things
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication; you can coordinate across multiple stakeholders without friction
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities
  • Based in San Francisco; comfortable being in-person regularly
  • Fluent with AI tools in your day-to-day work—you use them to work faster and smarter, not as a crutch
  • Proactive communicator who flags issues early and closes the loop without being asked
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience supporting events, field marketing, or community programs
  • Familiarity with tools like Iterable, Luma, looker
  • Experience at a startup or high-growth tech company
  • Exposure to email marketing operations, campaign coordination, or lifecycle programs
  • Background in community coordination, developer events, or brand activations
  • Experience in AI/ML, voice tech, or developer-facing products (a genuine plus, not a requirement)
What Success Looks Like30 Days
  • You understand the portfolio of events, campaigns, and programs we run
  • You've taken ownership of at least one active event or logistics initiative and are driving it forward
  • You're oriented in our key tools and have a clear read on where you can add the most immediate value
  • You've started learning the details of our product marketing and positioning
60 Days
  • You're operating with minimal oversight on logistics for multiple ancillary or third-party events—timelines, vendor comms, shipping, and materials run through you
  • You've executed at least one SF-based event or meetup and gathered learnings for the next one
  • You're contributing to campaign execution support and have started learning our email and lifecycle tools
90 Days
  • You're a reliable, trusted operator for field marketing and campaign execution
  • You've identified at least one process gap and proposed an improvement
  • You're building real relationships with vendors, venues, and community contacts in San Francisco
  • You can report on a program end-to-end: what it cost, who showed up, and what happened after
