Job description

As we enter the fourth year of the public phase of Soaring Higher: the Campaign for Boston College, we invite you to join our community. Driven by our mission in ways that advance the university for years to come, priority areas for this 3B comprehensive campaign include Financial Aid, Academics, and Student Life.
Based on a fundamental Jesuit tenet of developing the whole person, University Advancement is large enough to benefit from many campus resources, yet small enough to be agile and creative in supporting all associates. With an average tenure of close to 10 years at Boston College, our 250-person centralized organizational structure offers a variety of roles across fundraising, alumni relations, operations, and communications and engagement. We invest in the professional growth of every staff member through individual and team-based programs. Likewise, we aim to attract the very best, seeking team members who are as ambitious and as committed to our team as we are. We value a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging while actively promoting team members who contribute to the success of University Advancement.
See below the current opportunity to begin (or return to!) your Boston College experience!
Job Description:
The Assistant Director, Benefactor Events reports to the Senior Associate Director, Benefactor Events and is responsible for assisting in the strategy and oversight of the complex project management of signature fundraising events at Boston College, namely Pops on the Heights and the Wall Street Business Leadership Council Tribute Dinner, which raise a combined 15 million annually. The Assistant Director is directly responsible for individual ticket sales for both events, each of which provide an opportunity for alumni, parents, and friends to support Boston College and student financial aid, which has significant impact on the University's commitment to remaining a need-blind institution for undergraduate students.
Pops on the Heights is the largest fundraising event at Boston College and it supports undergraduate financial aid. The Pops on the Heights event alone requires ticket management for 6,000 tickets, concierge level service, and triage when necessary.
The Wall Street Business Leadership Council Tribute Dinner supports the Boston College Presidential Scholars program. In addition to ticket sales, this position manages two volunteer committees related to fundraising for the event. They are responsible for soliciting gifts to ensure 100% participation of every member, which includes collaborating on the marketing plan and timeline and management of all activity.
Each event interfaces with parents and alumni leaders at Boston College including Trustees, members of the Board of Regents, and leading benefactors. The Assistant Director manages fundraising operations for both events in partnership with Gift Management and will be responsible for partnering with offices across Advancement including Communications and Marketing, Programs and Events, Alumni Relations, Gift Processing and Advancement Services to ensure all events reach their fundraising goals.
The position also provides the opportunity to manage a portfolio of young alumni in the New York City area, cultivating relationships and advancing alumni engagement and philanthropic support.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is listed below, with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: 61,050 to 76,300; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
