Job description

Arlington Backyard is your premier outdoor concert venue where Arlington goes to play. Located next to Globe Life Park, the 5,000 capacity venue features a unique experience unlike any other with spectacular views of AT&T Stadium. Arlington Backyard offers a great live music experience for seeing the country's latest and most premier regional and national acts. Not limited to just concerts; the venue hosts over 250 annual events and serves as the hottest new event destination for major festivals, cultural activities and community functions. At Arlington Backyard, we are committed to delivering a concert and event experience where fans come together to create lasting memories.
Event Usher Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Greet guests attending the entertainment events at each assigned entrance in a professional manner.
  • Sell and scan admission tickets and passes from guests for each entertainment event.
  • Securely handling guests' and company cash and operating a portable cash register.
  • Examine tickets or passes verifying authenticity by using specific criteria, such as color or date.
  • Adheres to training on how to use the ticket scanners. Cares for all loaned items and returns each loaned item back to the Marketing team in working order.
  • Distribute promotional items (souvenir cups, rally towels, etc.), credentials and wrist bands, when necessary.
  • Manage the checking in of will call and VIP guests.
  • Assist guests with answering any event or facility related questions.
  • Direct guests to restrooms, parking, ATMs, etc.
  • Work well with the rest of the team to ensure the best experience for our guests.
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.

Event Usher Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of experience with cash handling, customer service and/or hosting.
  • Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred.
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the venue, the brand and the Company.
  • Reading abilities are frequently utilized, often when reviewing ticketing information.
  • Basic mathematical skills are used frequently.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

The Event Usher position requires the ability to perform the following:
  • Strong ability to provide attention to detail.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Handling objects, products, cash and register, and scanning machines.
  • Must be able to stay in one location at either the entrance or exit of the venue for long periods of time and safely/efficiently move about the entire facility.
