Job description

Hours: Approximately 6-10 hours per week

Duties:

The Event Support Assistant will work with the Event Program Manager to provide logistical and on-site support for campus events. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable interacting with a variety of people, and willing to assist with both behind-the-scenes set-up and guest-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with event setup and takedown (tables, chairs, signage, technology, décor, etc.)
  • Greeting and directing guests, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and vendors at events
  • Providing registration and check-in support for attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors
  • Serving as a point of contact for exhibitors and sponsors throughout events, escalating questions or concerns to event staff as needed
  • Helping distribute event materials and supplies
  • Assisting with day-of logistics as needed
  • Occasionally assisting with event promotion (posting flyers, sharing information on campus)
  • Occasionally supporting audio/visual or tech needs (training provided)
  • Meeting weekly (can be remote) with the Events Program Manager to review upcoming needs

Requirements:

  • Current NWHSU student
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable interacting with guests and representing the University in a professional manner
  • Ability to lift and move event materials (up to 25 lbs)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
