Job description

El Encanto is searching for professional event service staff members to join our team for our event season beginning this fall! As an event server, you will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for our guests.

This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, reliability, and ability to take direction quickly and effectively, to name a few!

This is a part time event based position that makes a great second job or source of supplemental income without a considerable scheduling commitment! Great pay including hourly base + tips!

El Encanto is a Mexican-inspired restaurant and enchanting wedding & event venue with locations in Cave Creek, Desert Hills and Fountain Hills. From engagement parties and rehearsal dinners to day-of ceremonies, receptions and corporate events, El Encanto welcomes all kinds of nuptial occasions. The venue exudes a sense of authenticity through classic Mission-style architecture, Mexican decor, and intricate furnishings. El Encanto provides all catering and beverages in house and the event staff is expected to set up the space, serve food & drinks and clean up following the event.

Primary Event Server Duties Include:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of El Encanto Restaurants and our Core Values.
  • Set up tables and chairs with clean linens, napkins, glassware, silverware or other supplies as directed in the banquet sheet provided by manager.
  • Set up Steam tables and Chafing Dishes
  • Polish glassware & flatware
  • Communicate with manager or banquet captain to ensure that all set up and food is prepared at least 30 minutes prior to event start time.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relay important information about orders, allergies, and special requests to the appropriate person.
  • Adhere to uniform standards which consist of black dress shoes, black dress pants (No jeans or cargo pants), and a white button down. Black vest will be provided. All uniforms must be CLEAN and PRESSED.
  • Enhance attendees experience without intruding on their experience
  • Transport Prepared Food from Hot boxes and/or line to buffet line
  • Recipe knowledge of items being served to ensure guests questions can be answered correctly
  • Neatly and efficiently "dish" items to guest from buffet/chafing dishes
  • Thoroughly utilize Event checklists to ensure that standards are being met
  • Complete Set up at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled event
  • Work as a TEAM!

Qualifications Include:

  • Knowledge of proper service etiquette
  • Knowledge and experience of state and federal liquor laws, i.e., alcohol is not served to minors or intoxicated people
  • Ability to bend and lift to at least 50 pounds
  • Capable of staying on feet for the entire shift which can be up to 10 hours
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Positive attitude and teamwork skills
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal
  • Extreme attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to follow verbal directions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
