Location: Cowles House
$15 per hour!
As an Event Server at Cowles House, You will gain hands-on experience in hospitality, event operations, customer service, and professional networking while working at the official residence of Michigan State University's President.
This position provides a unique opportunity to support university events, interact with campus leaders, alumni, donors, and distinguished guests, and develop transferable skills that will benefit you in future career paths.
You will play an important role in creating exceptional guest experiences by:
  • Serving food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner
  • Event set up and execution
  • Teamwork and collaboration, supervised and with minimal supervision
  • Time management and organization

Required Qualifications
  • Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
  • Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Must be available to work during all home football games
  • Must be positive and respectful
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Positive interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, hospitality, restaurant, catering, or event experience is helpful but not required
  • Experience working in team-oriented environments
