Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Detail-oriented event server with experience delivering exceptional guest experiences at catered events and corporate functions. Skilled in food and beverage service, event setup and breakdown, and anticipating guest needs in high-volume environments. Known for strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive, service-driven approach to hospitality. Assignments will be determined by the host's direct supervisor and may vary from event to event.
This is a seasonal full-time position that will work through the 2026 - 2027 event season for the Utah Jazz, Utah Mammoth and Delta Center. MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO APPLY, $22 PER HOUR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Please note: The Family Room/Event Server role includes serving food, beverages, and alcohol.
  • Provide food and beverage service to guests at catered events and private functions.
  • Set up event spaces including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and service stations.
  • Assist with event preparation and breakdown before and after service.
  • Deliver plated meals, tray-passed items, or buffet service efficiently and accurately.
  • Refill beverages and clear used dishes throughout the event.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas during events.
  • Communicate with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines.
  • Support team members to ensure timely and coordinated service.
  • Handle glassware, dishes, and serving equipment carefully to avoid breakage.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
  • Adapt quickly to changing event needs and guest volume.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and major holidays.
  • Required to work events catered by The Underground team.
  • Minimum 3 years fine dining/event experience.
  • Current food handlers permit and alcohol certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 30 lbs. overhead.
