Job Description:

This job is responsible for oversight of executive protection teams and activities within a specific geographic region and the health, safety, and physical security of all attendees at Bank of America sponsored or hosted events. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of security plans and protocols, direction of activities to ensure safety and security of the senior management team and bank events, and delivery of threat analysis across various platforms with cross-functional teams.

Major Events Security creates a safe and secure business environment that reflects Bank of America's values through the professional delivery of effective physical security and safety-related services for senior management, employees, clients, guests, and other stakeholders in support of Bank of America- or third-party-sponsored events and meetings worldwide.

This role manages the health, safety, and physical security of all attendees at Bank of America-sponsored or hosted events. Responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive security plans and protocols, ensuring the safety of clients and associates, and confirming that proper screening and vetting procedures are executed for all event guests.

The Major Events Security Manager is ahighly organized, detail-oriented multitaskerresponsible for managing multiple projects and security assessments simultaneously. This includes traveling in advance of events to conduct detailed security surveys of all identified locations, establishing key contacts, and coordinating arrangements to ensure guest safety. The role requires continuous analysis and identification of potential threats through extensive monitoring across multiple intelligence and information platforms.

The position maintains close working relationships across all lines of business supporting Major Events, including Intelligence, Executive Protection, and Protective Services. The role requires the ability to quickly prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment, identifying and responding to security situations on a 24/7 basis during events. Close coordination with event planners, local law enforcement, and venue partners is essential.

The role requires extended periods on one's feet, with typical investor and internal management conferences involving 14-15 hour days over consecutive days. The Major Events Security Manager must be capable of responding to all medical situations and may serve as the first responder on scene, performing first-responder duties as required. Responsibilities include managing ongoing incidents, medical conditions, and/or event-related investigations while simultaneously maintaining overall event security oversight with planners, event staff, additional security resources, and venue partners. Strong organizational skills are critical to recognize shifting priorities and determine which matters require immediate attention versus those that can be addressed following daily event operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for each event, including risk assessments, security staffing requirements, and emergency response strategies.
  • Team Management: Select, train, and supervise security personnel. Ensure all security professionals are fully briefed on their responsibilities and the specifics of each event.
  • Coordination with External Agencies: Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and private security firms to ensure a coordinated approach to event security.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all security activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with the latest in security technology and procedures to enhance safety measures.
  • Incident Management: Serve as the primary contact for all security-related incidents. Lead the resolution with minimal disruption to the event, and ensure Security Leadership maintains awareness.
  • Communicates event security information effectively and securely to key stakeholders
  • Develops and implements security plans and protocols for events, ensuring the safety of clients and employees and proper screening/vetting procedures for all event guests
  • Develops strong partnerships with key business stakeholders, and local and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Executes projects and assessments associated with the security of the senior management team
  • Manages expenses related to event security costs, in line with objectives and budget

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in security management role
  • Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written) and be able to interact with internal customers/leadership and external partners.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating with private security and law enforcement agencies.
  • Proven critical thinking under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated/self-starter.
  • Influencer - Must have the ability to interact and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, influencing decisions on appropriate security resources.
