Job description

Position Title: Director of Sales
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: General Manager / Ownership

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Sales to lead and grow hotel revenue through strategic sales initiatives, relationship development, and strong leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in hospitality sales, group business development, banquet and catering sales, and hotel operations.

This individual must be energetic, organized, revenue-driven, and capable of building long-term client relationships while maximizing occupancy and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to increase hotel occupancy and revenue.
  • Prospect and secure new corporate, group, sports, wedding, and social event business.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts and key clients.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, networking events, and community outreach.
  • Manage group room blocks, contracts, negotiations, and banquet opportunities.
  • Monitor local market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

Revenue & Financial Management

  • Maximize ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, and banquet revenue.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasting, and revenue analysis.
  • Assist with budgeting and expense management.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to implement revenue-driving strategies.

Leadership & Operations

  • Work closely with all hotel departments to ensure excellent guest experiences.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team while maintaining accountability and professionalism.
  • Participate in daily operations and manager-on-duty responsibilities as needed.
  • Ensure brand standards and customer service expectations are consistently met.
  • Resolve guest and client concerns promptly and professionally.

Client & Event Management

  • Conduct hotel site tours and client presentations.
  • Coordinate with banquet and operations teams to ensure successful event execution.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the planning process.
  • Ensure all contracts, billing, and event details are completed accurately.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience required.
  • Previous Hilton or branded hotel experience preferred.
  • Proven track record in corporate sales, group bookings, and banquet/event sales.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of hotel systems such as Delphi, PEP, OnQ, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings when necessary.
