Job Summary:

The Sales Manager is responsible for selling and promoting Huntington Place, Detroit's premier Convention and Exhibition Center. This role focuses on lead generation, client solicitation, and booking meetings and events across the region and metropolitan Detroit area through personal sales calls, direct outreach, and strategic marketing efforts. The Sales Manager represents Huntington Place to clients and industry partners, conducts facility tours, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and ensures successful event bookings. This role requires a self-starter with strong sales skills, high energy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and organizations. The Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales and Development.

Key Job Elements:

  • Respond to sales inquiries and leads from clients, hospitality partners (hotels, Visit Detroit, etc.), and industry sources.
  • Assess space availability, rental rates, and event feasibility in alignment with company policies.
  • Utilize yield management strategies to maximize economic impact.
  • Maintain accurate booking records and client data in a computerized sales system.
  • Effectively use modern sales and office technologies, including CRM tools, email marketing, and digital sales platforms.
