Job description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advising the SGA Department of New Student Development

    • Meet weekly with the Director and Assistant Director of New Student Development
    • Attend weekly Freshman & Transfer Council meetings
    • Assist with developing curriculum and plans for the Freshman and Transfer Council
    • Facilitate purchases for Freshman and Transfer Council events and initiatives
  • Advising and supporting the SGA Communications and Campus Relations team

    • Meet weekly with the Director of Communications and Director of Campus Relations
    • Attend the weekly Communications team meetings
    • Assist with marketing planning, promotion, and projects for SGA
  • Manage the SGA Elections process

    • Hire, train, and supervise the SGA Election Commission
    • Create and confirm the SGA Election timeline
    • Meet weekly with the SGA Election Commission and head Commissioner
    • Plan the annual SGA Inauguration event
  • Co-Coordinate the annual Tiger Pride Day, advocacy day at the U.S. Capitol alongside the Director of Student Activities

    • Meet regularly with the SGA Director and Assistant Director of Governmental Affairs
  • Support the SGA Executive Cabinet with developing and executing initiatives on campus

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Fiscal Responsibility: Budget management, and tracking of allocated resources within SGA

    • Proper use and reconciliation of university procurement card for event/program/initiatives purchases

  • Assessment and evaluation

    • SGA member learning and development, as well as program specific engagement and learning

  • Management and maintenance of individual and office calendars; event/initiative communication; university event space requests/confirmations; event/initiative logistical needs

Campus and Community Relations:

  • Support the Office of Student Activities programs, Division of Student Affairs programs, and university programs as assigned.

  • Support collaboration with campus and/or community partners as assigned

    • Serve on the CliftonStrengths facilitation team

  • Serve on divisional and institutional committees as assigned

  • Perform other Duties as assigned

The work hours for this position include some evenings and weekends. Occasional travel is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • One year of relevant work experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative and diverse setting

  • Ability to oversee projects and manage multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse and culturally pluralistic student population and campus community

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Program development and management skills

  • Basic understanding of student development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree

  • Demonstrated ability in student training and resouce design

  • Basic programmatic and learning objective development and assessment
