SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide pleasant and professional services to all hotel guests.
  • Set-up and tear down of banquet event tables, chairs, and A/V.
  • Assist Rooms Manager with hotel projects including but not limited to, repairs, remodels, carpet and floor care, painting.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of all banquet halls, storage, and service areas.
  • Assist Rooms Manager with the West Tower student room flips done twice per year.
  • Assist Engineering department as needed during Preventative maintenance down time and absence of in house projects.
  • Perform custodial work within the context of assigned repairs.
  • Maintain on-going communication and collaboration with staff with the aim of achieving high levels of cooperation and service excellence.
  • Properly maintain all work equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries with appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy.
  • Comply with all department, hotel, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any task not outlined above that the associate has the ability to perform.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to effectively read and write or speak English is required. Must be able to provide, receive, and comprehend verbal or written instructions and information. Desired are individuals who are friendly, reliable, enthusiastic, obliging, and compassionate. Qualified individuals will additionally demonstrate skills in organization, planning, problem solving, and communication. Must present an appropriate public presence in grooming, dress, poise, and social etiquette. Must be able to work independently or with others. Proper social demeanor, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and passion for serving others is essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have adequate communication and hearing skills to perform the required job responsibilities.
  • Must have adequate vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand drastic temperature changes.

Previous banquet event set-up experience preferred. Open availability required including weekends.

The salary for this position is $18 - $19 per hour.
