Job description

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations at our Louisville manufacturing facility, with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role drives results through strong leadership, lean manufacturing practices, and a culture of continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for engaging teams, optimizing performance, and delivering products that meet and exceed customer expectations. This position collaborates closely with Continuous Improvement, Quality, Sales, Production Scheduling, Maintenance, and Design teams to support business objectives.
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Louisville, KY manufacturing facility and reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety of Operation
  • Champion a culture of safety across all areas of the operation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Identify operational risks and implement control measures aligned with the hierarchy of controls.
  • Partner with the EHS Manager and cross-functional teams to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Product Quality
  • Lead quality initiatives to reduce scrap rates and improve consistency.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Use Pareto analysis and other data tools to identify trends and drive improvement.

Customer Lead Times
  • Monitor daily schedule attainment and address build plan variances.
  • Minimize overtime by increasing capacity through improved equipment uptime.
  • Lead efforts to reduce changeover times and audit adherence to standard work.
  • Build and maintain a flexible, cross-trained workforce to support business agility.

Operational Effectiveness
  • Achieve productivity targets and output goals for finished goods.
  • Train and coach teams on lean tools such as SMED, Kaizen, and 5S.
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and development of production team members.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide direction to supervisors and team leads to foster a safe, high-performance culture.
  • Champion CI projects in partnership with internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and design.
  • Identify gaps in performance and proactively implement innovative process solutions

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred
    • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in high-volume production
  • Experience in printing, wallcoverings, textiles, or surface solutions manufacturing is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and quality systems
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale / multi-shift teams and drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of ERP and production scheduling systems
  • OSHA and safety compliance training or certifications (OSHA 10 Industrial)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, including noise and temperature variations.
  • Other duties as assigned
