Job description

Located within walking distance of Nationwide Arena and the trendy Arena District, Hyatt Regency Columbus redefines the modern hotel experience. We offer 633 renovated guest rooms and spacious suites and 70,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. We are connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center and steps to the Short North Arts District, ours is the hotel in which to meet and play in downtown Columbus.
Are you ready?
Because we are looking for a Event Planning Manager!
The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is planning and executing all aspects of group sales bookings. This position acts as the liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff. Responsibilities include administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review. Event Planning Managers also are the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events.
The Event Planning Manager also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event meetings, and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and events staff.
The Event Planning Manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.
What does the ROLE entail?
  • Primary focus is on planning and executing successful events
  • Market will be conventions in house and rooms only groups
  • Acts as a liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff
  • Prepares all rooms and event documentation, coordinates with property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event and post-event phases.
  • Detail all Food and Beverage, meeting room sets and diagrams
  • Responsible for group billing details and final review
  • The Event Planning Managers are also the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events

Qualifications
Your EXPERIENCE:
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Unafraid of financial related tasks, projects and responsibilities
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized
  • A fun and energized person
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Two years of hotel event planning experience or equivalent preferred
