Job description

Events & Mobile Operations Crew

Seasonal, Temporary Adventure Position • May–October 2026**

Do you dream of spending your summer outdoors, traveling to festivals, cooking great food, and being part of a tight‑knit crew on the move? Are you energized by fast‑paced environments, new places, and the thrill of making events come alive?

If you’re ready for a job that feels more like an adventure than a shift, this temporary, seasonal role (May–October 2026) is calling your name.

The Skinny Pancake is building our Events & Mobile Operations Crew — the team that brings our food to music festivals, waterfront events, farmers markets, and pop‑ups across Vermont and beyond. You’ll travel by bus or van with your crew, set up mobile kitchens, serve thousands of happy guests, and sometimes end the night in a tent, an Airbnb, or a hotel, depending on the event.

We’re a crew of bold, cool, confident, chill people who take our work seriously — but we also know how to have a downright good time doing it. This isn’t an “anything goes” gig, but it is a job where you’ll laugh hard, work hard, and make memories you’ll talk about for years. If you love food, people, sunshine, and the open road, you’ll love this job.

Think of it as a mix of:

  • Food truck life
  • Festival energy
  • Road‑trip camaraderie
  • Outdoor adventure
  • Hands‑on hospitality

Some days, you’re spinning crepes under blue skies.

Some days, you’re loading gear into a bus at dawn.

Some nights you’re sleeping in a tent under the stars.

Some weekends you’re in a hotel because the event is huge and the days are long.

It’s real work — but it’s also a blast.

Pay & Perks

  • $14.50 plus tips with high earning potential at busy events
  • Free meals on shift
  • Employee discounts
  • Healthcare + dental/vision options for eligible staff
  • Travel, sunshine, music, and memories you’ll talk about for years

What You’ll Do

  • Travel to events across Vermont and the region
  • Set up and operate mobile kitchens, food carts, and event booths
  • Cook, prep, spin crepes, and serve guests with big hospitality energy
  • Load/unload equipment, transport carts, and keep workspaces clean
  • Work fast, stay positive, and support your crew
  • Represent The Skinny Pancake at festivals, waterfront events, farmers markets, and more
  • Help with cash handling, restocking, and general event operations

Why You’ll Love It

  • You’ll spend your summer outside, not stuck in a building
  • You’ll meet people from everywhere — locals, tourists, musicians, vendors
  • You’ll learn how to work a mobile kitchen from the ground up
  • You’ll be part of a crew that works hard, laughs hard, and travels together
  • You’ll see Vermont (and beyond) from the road, not a desk
  • You’ll be part of a company that started as a Church Street cart and still loves the adventure of mobile food
  • You’ll join a team that’s confident, capable, and fun as heck

This is a temporary, seasonal position running May through October 2026.

We want people who are:

  • Positive, reliable, and ready to work
  • Cool under pressure and comfortable in fast‑paced environments
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and handle physical tasks
  • Team‑oriented and good with guests
  • Excited about food, events, and adventure
  • At least 18 years old
  • Licensed drivers with clean records (bonus!)

Food service experience is great, but not required.

A love of people and a willingness to learn is essential.
