Position Summary: The Event Operations Technician is a full-time position responsible for maintaining, operating, and supporting Wilks Development's event venues and public gathering spaces. This role ensures venues, grounds, and common areas remain clean, safe, functional, and event-ready throughout the year. Working closely with the Event Coordinator, property management team, tenants, vendors, artists, and event partners, the Event Operations Technician plays a critical role in supporting event execution, maintaining facility operations, and preserving the overall guest experience. This position combines venue maintenance, groundskeeping, event setup and teardown, safety monitoring, and operational support to ensure successful day-to-day venue operations.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown.
  • Set up tables, chairs, barricades, signage, VIP areas, dรฉcor, and event equipment.
  • Support artist, vendor, food truck, and promoter load-in and load-out.
  • Reset venues following events and return equipment to designated storage areas.
  • Assist with operational coordination throughout events.
  • Provide on-site support to event staff, vendors, performers, and guests.
  • Monitor event activities and proactively address issues as they arise.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of venues, common areas, restrooms, patios, and outdoor spaces.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including pressure washing, trash removal, furniture upkeep, landscaping support, and minor repairs.
  • Conduct venue inspections before events to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and guest-ready.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues and assist with coordinating repairs.
  • Provide friendly customer service by assisting guests, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • Help create a welcoming, safe, and positive experience for visitors.
  • Monitor venues and public spaces for safety concerns, incidents, or suspicious activity.
  • Assist with crowd management, event operations, and emergency response procedures while ensuring compliance with venue policies.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability during events is required.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
    • 1โ€“3 years of experience in event operations, facilities maintenance, hospitality, venue management, or a related field.
    • Basic knowledge of maintenance systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC.
    • Experience operating hand and power tools.
    • Experience working at concerts, festivals, entertainment venues, or community events.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
