What does an event manager do?

Event managers plan, organize, and supervise events, such as business conferences, weddings, and festivals. They handle all the arrangements required to make the event run smoothly. Event managers determine what the client needs and expects; then they coordinate the preparations leading up to the event, including booking venues, scheduling transportation, and selecting the food and decorations. Job description

Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is seeking an Event Manager to lead and grow its private event business. Established in 1919, Barton Hills is Ann Arbor's only Distinguished Club of America.

The Event Manager owns member and member-sponsored events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, celebrations, and charitable functions. This role works in close partnership with the Director of Food & Beverage and reports to the General Manager/COO. Key first-year priorities include establishing the day-of execution team, creating repeatable booking and planning processes, and building a consistent pipeline of private events.

Candidates should bring at least four years of event sales, catering, or event management experience, with private club or membership-based hospitality experience preferred.

Please do not contact the Club directly; all inquiries and applications should be submitted through Strategic Club Solutions.

For more information, please visit our website. Interested candidates may apply confidentially by submitting their resume to Rob Schlingmann, CCM, CCE, CAM at Rob@strategicclubsolutions.com.
