Job description

The Sales & Events Manager is responsible for generating group and social catering business, coordinating event details, and ensuring flawless execution of functions. This role combines proactive sales efforts with event management and administrative support, serving as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building partnerships, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Proactively solicit, negotiate, and secure group room blocks, social catering events, and special occasions (weddings, meetings, celebrations).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate, social, SMERF, association, and wedding clients.
  • Conduct site visits, sales presentations, and client meetings to drive business and showcase hotel offerings.
  • Assist in achieving hotel revenue goals through targeted prospecting, account management, and networking.
  • Monitor booking pace, analyze business trends, and provide insights to support accurate forecasting.

Client Relations & Event Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary contact for group and catering clients from proposal through event execution.
  • Prepare contracts, proposals, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring timely and accurate communication with all departments.
  • Participate in weekly BEO/operations meetings to align details and expectations.
  • Coordinate support services such as A/V, dรฉcor, entertainment, and F&B with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • ย Physically check event set-ups against specifications and adjust as necessary to exceed client expectations.

Market Analysis & Business Development:

  • Research and prospect new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and partnerships with local organizations (wedding planners, associations, sports groups, etc.).
  • Implement marketing initiatives and promotions in collaboration with the Director of Sales to increase awareness and revenue.
  • Represent the hotel at community and industry events to expand visibility and build strong referral networks.

Collaboration & Administration:

  • Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline, and revenue potential to the Director of Sales.
  • Maintain accurate data in hotel sales systems (Delphi, Cvent, or similar) for lead tracking, proposals, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and hotel policies to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • ย Support the sales office with administrative tasks including reporting, inventory management, and client communication.ยท

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of hotel sales or catering experience.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
  • Knowledge of sales platforms such as Delphi, Cvent, and Meeting Broker is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for client events.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Frequently required to stand, bend, kneel, and move around the facility.
  • Ability to travel locally for client meetings, industry events, and site visits as needed.
