Job description

The Coordinator/Assistant will primarily provide comprehensive support for the firm’s marketing and business development initiatives, along with day-to-day activities related to practice groups and individual attorneys. The ideal candidate is expected to have excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, be very detail-oriented, and possess a comprehensive understanding of marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the marketing department, including responding to requests from attorneys, staff, and external vendors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the onboarding process for new attorneys, including coordinating announcements, updating biographies, and facilitating marketing-related setup.
  • Assist with the development, updating, and production of marketing materials and collateral, frequently utilizing Adobe InDesign and other design tools.
  • Track and evaluate sponsorships and memberships, collaborate with attorneys and external partners to fulfill related obligations, and manage the firm’s local and industry-focused affiliations.
  • Coordinate and prepare submissions for awards, rankings, and legal directories.
  • Draft, edit, format, and proofread internal and external communications, publications, announcements, and presentations to ensure consistency, clarity, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Coordinate promotional products and branded materials, including tracking inventory and placing orders as needed.
  • Research and identify strategic speaking engagements, panel opportunities, guest articles, sponsorships, and other visibility opportunities that position attorneys in front of key decision-makers.
  • Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and creation of graphics of the firm’s digital marketing platforms, including the website, blogs, and social media channels, helping ensure content remains current, accurate, and aligned with firm strategy.
  • Conduct research on industries, companies, clients, and prospects to support targeted business development efforts.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of seminars, receptions, sponsorship activations, and client-focused business development events.
  • Support the firm’s client relationship management (CRM) system, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and utilization for business development initiatives.
  • Contribute actively to the firm’s overall marketing and business development strategy through collaboration, idea-sharing, and execution of initiatives that support firm growth goals.

Skills:

  • Candidates should have at least 1–3 years of relevant marketing experience; those with 3 or more years are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum four-year college degree, preferably in marketing, journalism, English, business, or a similar discipline. Under certain circumstances the firm may substitute experience for educational requirements and vice versa.
  • The candidate must be able to live and work in Atlanta (no remote candidates, please).
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, WordPress and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations for client service, collaboration, teamwork, attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, grammar and punctuation, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks and projects and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Experience with website analytics and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Work may require more than 40 hours per week to perform essential duties of the position; occasionally may require irregular hours.
  • Work requires sitting, bending, stooping, computer keyboarding and continuous use of the hands, telephone contact, reading, and lifting of 25-50 lbs. or more.
  • Work may also require travel to regional offices and offsite locations; therefore, work requires driving.
