Job description


Job Title: Event Cleaner

Now Hiring: Event Cleaners - $18/hour - Downtown Richmond, VA

Do you like being where the action is? Sporting events, graduations, concerts, and private galas all need a crew that keeps the space spotless while guests enjoy the show. That crew is us, and we're hiring.

No experience required. We train you. Bring reliability and pride in your work, and we'll handle the rest.

The Basics

  • Pay: $18.00 per hour
  • Location: Downtown Richmond, VA venues
  • Shift length: 4 hours
  • Schedule: 1–3 shifts per week, mornings, evenings, or overnight - weekdays and weekends. Shifts follow the event calendar, so tell us your availability and we'll match you to it.
  • Type: Part-time / on-call

What You'll Do

Before and during the event

  • Keep restrooms stocked, clean, and presentable while guests are in the building
  • Clear trash from concourses, seating areas, and common spaces as it accumulates
  • Wipe down high-touch surfaces, tables, and counters
  • Respond quickly to spills and other immediate needs
  • Stay in contact with the event manager so urgent requests get handled fast

After the event

  • Break down and clear the venue: trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming
  • Deep-clean restrooms
  • Return the space to turnover-ready condition for the next event
  • Collect and sort waste and recycling, keeping disposal areas organized
  • Operate vacuums, mops, brooms, and other equipment safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

  • Dependable and on time - event schedules don't wait
  • Detail-oriented; you notice the thing everyone else walked past
  • Courteous and professional around guests, since you're working in front of the public
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs for a full shift
  • Available for some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Works well on a crew and takes direction from a supervisor
  • Prior custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, or event cleaning experience is a plus but not required
