Event Bartenders

Location: Apex Entertainment - Virginia Beach
Employment Type: Part-Time Hourly

Apex Entertainment is looking for energetic and customer-focused Event Bartenders to join our hospitality team! As an Event Bartender, you will play an important role in creating memorable experiences for our guests by providing exceptional beverage service at private events, banquets, corporate functions, and celebrations.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering outstanding hospitality. Whether you have experience as a bartender, banquet bartender, server, or hospitality professional, this is a great opportunity to be part of a fun and dynamic team.

What You'll DoBeverage Preparation & Bartending
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Apex Entertainment standards and recipes.
  • Mix, garnish, and present beverages with attention to quality and presentation.
  • Verify guest identification and serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with all state and local regulations.
  • Process guest payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each event.
  • Ensure beverage products, supplies, and equipment are properly maintained.
Exceptional Guest Service
  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere while engaging with guests throughout events.
  • Answer guest questions and assist with requests in a timely manner.
  • Handle challenging situations, including intoxicated guests, professionally and responsibly.
  • Thank guests for choosing Apex Entertainment and help create a memorable experience.
Event Support & Teamwork
  • Attend pre-event meetings to review event details, schedules, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with banquet servers, event staff, culinary team members, and management to ensure successful events.
  • Assist with event setup, bar setup, breakdown, and resetting event spaces.
  • Support team members and complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • TIPS Certification required (or ability to obtain prior to serving alcohol).
  • Previous experience as a Bartender, Event Bartender, Banquet Bartender, Restaurant Bartender, Bar Server, or Hospitality Professional preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and service standards.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist with moving beverage supplies, glassware, and event equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in tight spaces and around guests during events.
