Job Summary:
Kuvare Holdings is dedicated to simplifying retirement solutions for consumers and financial professionals. The Data Engineer will manage data retrieval, storage, and distribution across various platforms, ensuring the effectiveness of modern data architectures and contributing to business growth.
Responsibilities:
• Research architectural trends, design methods, and emerging technologies, in adherence to and in support of company standards, helping Kuvare develop and maintain a nimble technology platform for adapting to new business opportunities.
• Work with Business SMEs and end users – including external business partners and vendors - to translate business requirements into technical specifications, including technical designs, data flow diagrams, and other technical artifacts.
• Create data pipelines to ingest, update, or transport data to/from any variety of data stores, from external data files to internal dimensional or relational models; and leveraging a broad toolset including SFTP, Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hub, SQL Stored Procedures, etc.
• Leverage excellent SQL skills to build structured data repositories: tables, views, indexes, constraints, etc.
• Perform tests and evaluations to ensure reliability, data security, privacy, and integrity.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, such as for monthly meetings at the local office and an annual IT summit at a Kuvare hub office, which might be Baton Rouge, Cedar Rapids, or Chicago.
• Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and the Azure environment.
• Expertise in relational and dimensional database modeling, data development and administration.
• Extensive experience with ETL/ELT pipelines including any combination of modern tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Function Apps, Logic Apps, etc.
• Analytic and problem-solving skills and experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
