Job description

Summary
Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of the Clinical Resource and Simulation Center (CRSC) the Adjunct Lab Nursing Instructor develops, implements, and evaluates evidenced-based activities in the Clinical Resource Simulation Center Lab.
Participates in simulation activities as primary instructor and demonstrates nursing skills and techniques to students.
Uses information technologies skillfully to support teaching-learning process including the use of high-fidelity human simulators.
Essential Functions:
  • Facilitation of learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of and participation in developing the nursing Lab curriculum.
  • Evaluation of students' skills/simulations performance and ability to meet competencies of the program based on course objectives and program outcomes.
  • Identifies and supports the needs of the students to provide a quality learning experience.
  • Perform other duties as required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Weekend and evening hours may be required.

Requirements:
Master's degree in nursing preferred, bachelor's degree in nursing required (according to BORN policy) with 5 years clinical nursing experience required. Active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Previous clinical instructor experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about working with students from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Able to work in team settings (e.g. with instructional course teams).
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Massachusetts RN.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.

Compensation: $75 per hour
