Material Flow Coordinator


Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salary

Reports to: Inventory Control Manager

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Location: Jacksonville, FL Manufacturing Facilities

Summary Objective

The Material Flow Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout the supply chain to support uninterrupted production and operations. This role monitors inventory levels, coordinates with suppliers and internal departments, and resolves material flow issues to maintain optimal performance and cost efficiency. The coordinator will show compliance with policies and audit requirements, collaborate with production, procurement, scheduling and logistic teams. They assist in monitoring key inventory performance metrics to report results and corrective actions to management.


Essential Functions

  • Ensure on time availability of materials to meet production schedules
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by ensuring timely and accurate transactions in the system
  • Assist in ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules.
  • Help the Superintendent to oversee inbound scheduling and traffic control, ensuring efficient and timely receipt of materials.
  • Assist in managing communication and coordination with offsite warehouse points of contact to ensure inventory visibility and alignment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams on material deliveries, discrepancies, and status updates.
  • Improve overall material flow and efficiency and warehouse organization
  • Assign and maintain accurate inventory locations across storage and production facilities.
  • Coordinate with the Material Control team to ensure material is being directed to the proper locations
  • Maintain proper storage, labelling and material handling practices to prevent loss or damage

Work Location

This position is located at the Normandy Facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or remote work.

Work Environment

Work is performed in both office and production floor environments, with routine exposure to indoor and outdoor storage areas.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on production needs.


Travel

Some local day travel may be required. Occasional travel to customer sites or industry-related events may be necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in inventory control, logistics, materials management, or related manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory control principles and traceability systems.
  • Familiarity with 5S/6S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional education preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience leading or supervising teams in material handling, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Basic working knowledge of heavy equipment used in material movement (forklifts, telehandlers, etc.).
