Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Materials Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Rogers, Arkansas. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity offering full benefits from day one. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience with materials selection, testing, product development, and manufacturing support in a collaborative environment.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the evaluation, testing, and selection of engineering materials for new and existing products.
  • Perform laboratory testing and analyze material properties, performance, and failure modes.
  • Support root cause investigations and failure analysis for manufacturing and field issues.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier teams to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and engineering recommendations.
  • Assist with qualification and validation of new materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and material standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and quality procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0–3 years of engineering experience (internships and co-op experience are welcomed).
  • Understanding of material properties including metals, polymers, ceramics, or composites.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and solve engineering problems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CAD software or materials testing equipment is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or product development.
  • Exposure to failure analysis or root cause investigation.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, or other engineering standards.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
