Job description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a German/Italian Curriculum Designer to join our Rosetta Stone team. As a German/Italian Curriculum Designer, you will create engaging and interactive online assessment questions and collaborate with software engineers, visual designers, and a team of writers and editors to bring your designs to life. Your educational insight, creative solutions, strong writing skills, and commitment to quality will make personalized learning a reality for millions of students.

This position requires you to be in our Raleigh, NC, area office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Act as an in-house expert on both German and Italian grammar and style
  • Design and write clear, engaging, and interactive questions to evaluate German and Italian phonics, grammar, reading comprehension, writing strategies, and vocabulary
  • Edit user-facing content and collaborate with a team of writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure content is fun, accurate, and error-free
  • Manage projects and collaborate with software engineers, visual designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality content
  • Understand our project requirements and use them to create guidelines, processes, and documentation to support a growing team
  • Hire and oversee a team of Italian- and German-speaking content creators
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Italian, German, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
  • Experience teaching new languages to adult learners 
  • Fluency in German, Italian, and English, including outstanding written communication skills and the ability to explain linguistic concepts clearly and concisely
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
  • Familiarity with common language assessment frameworks like CEFR and ACTFL
  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively
  • Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn new guidelines and software; familiarity with HTML, Jira, or Git is a plus
