What is an evening driver?

An Evening Driver is responsible for transporting passengers, goods, or deliveries during evening hours. Duties may include picking up and dropping off clients, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. This role often requires a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and knowledge of local routes. Evening Drivers may work for transportation services, courier companies, or private clients.

What does a typical shift look like for an evening driver?

A typical shift for an Evening Driver usually begins in the late afternoon or early evening and may extend into the night, depending on the employer's needs. Drivers are responsible for completing scheduled pickups and drop-offs, deliveries, or service routes with accuracy and timeliness, utilizing navigation tools to optimize their routes. Work environments vary from rideshare and courier services to company fleets or transportation for healthcare facilities. While much of the work is independent, there may be regular check-ins with dispatchers or support teams, and the ability to handle varying traffic and weather conditions is key. Evening shifts can entail a unique set of challenges, such as lower visibility and higher demand at certain hours, making adaptability and a focus on safety crucial.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the evening driver position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Evening Driver, you need a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, strong navigation skills, and reliability. Experience with GPS devices, routing apps, and sometimes commercial driving certifications (such as a CDL for larger vehicles) may be required. Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills help drivers excel, especially when working independently or directly with clients. These skills ensure punctual, safe, and satisfying transportation or delivery services during evening hours, often when demand is high and safety is paramount.

Job description

Position Overview

The Detail Technician is responsible for the timely, high quality completion of vehicle detailing for our internal inventory. This is a production based role that rewards finished results, speed, and consistency.

You work after hours in a quiet shop. No showroom traffic, no customers, nobody standing over your shoulder. You come in, you knock out your cars, and you go home. For the right person this is the best detail job in Boulder County.

Schedule
  • Shift begins at approximately 4:00 PM and runs until the evening's work is complete
  • Schedule is flexible. We care about completed cars, not clock in times. Within the evening window you set your own pace and your own days, as long as production is met
  • Sunday shop access is available for full day work if you want the extra volume
  • Production standard: 2 completed vehicles per evening

What You'll Do
  • Complete full interior and exterior details on internal inventory vehicles
  • Wash, vacuum, shampoo, clay, polish, dress, and finish vehicles to dealership standards
  • Inspect your own work before marking a vehicle complete. A car is done when it is ready for the sales floor with no re-clean needed
  • Keep the detail bay, equipment, and supplies clean and organized
  • Coordinate with the Used Car and Sales departments on vehicle priority

What We're Looking For
  • Prior automotive detailing experience preferred
  • Someone who works fast without cutting corners. Re-cleans cost you time and cost us deliveries
  • Self motivated and able to work independently after hours with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the shift
  • Reliable. If cars do not get finished at night, deliveries do not happen the next day

Why This Role
  • You control your schedule. Flexible hours inside the evening window
  • You work independently. No showroom, no walk in traffic, no micromanaging
  • Steady volume year round. A 1,200 unit store keeps the pipeline full
  • Strong earning potential. This is a production based role, so your output drives your income. Details discussed at interview
