A typical shift for an Evening Driver usually begins in the late afternoon or early evening and may extend into the night, depending on the employer's needs. Drivers are responsible for completing scheduled pickups and drop-offs, deliveries, or service routes with accuracy and timeliness, utilizing navigation tools to optimize their routes. Work environments vary from rideshare and courier services to company fleets or transportation for healthcare facilities. While much of the work is independent, there may be regular check-ins with dispatchers or support teams, and the ability to handle varying traffic and weather conditions is key. Evening shifts can entail a unique set of challenges, such as lower visibility and higher demand at certain hours, making adaptability and a focus on safety crucial.

Experience with GPS devices, routing apps, and sometimes commercial driving certifications (such as a CDL for larger vehicles) may be required. Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills help drivers excel, especially when working independently or directly with clients. These skills ensure punctual, safe, and satisfying transportation or delivery services during evening hours, often when demand is high and safety is paramount.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Cart+Driver — Host Denver, CO | LoHi | Part-time & Full-time · Dinner Service

About Us

Cart+Driver is an upscale Neapolitan pizza and oyster bar with two Denver locations — LoHi and RiNo. We're built on warm, genuine hospitality, quality ingredients, and a dining experience that feels personal every single time. Our front-of-house team sets the tone for everything that follows.

The Role

As a host at Cart Driver, you're the first impression — and often the last. We're looking for someone with natural warmth, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to stay graceful under pressure. You'll manage the flow of the dining room, make guests feel genuinely welcome, and keep the evening running smoothly from open to close.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests with warmth and intention
  • Manage reservations and walk-ins using our booking system
  • Communicate wait times clearly and honestly
  • Coordinate table turns with servers and floor managers
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming front-of-house environment
  • Answer phones and handle inquiries about reservations and private dining
  • Support the team during service with a positive, can-do attitude

What We're Looking For

  • Prior hosting or guest-facing hospitality experience preferred
  • A genuine love of people and the art of hospitality
  • Calm and composed during busy service
  • Strong communication skills and situational awareness
  • Comfortable with reservation platforms (Resy experience a plus)
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts (4–10pm)
  • A team player who takes pride in the guest experience

Why Cart+Driver

  • Profit sharing — you share in what we build together
  • People-first culture — hospitality starts with how we treat each other
  • Upscale environment — a dining room you'll be proud to represent
