Data Center Controls Manager - Operations About this position About Prime Data Centers

Prime Data Centers develops, acquires, and operates data centers for some of the world's largest enterprises. A private firm owned by a group controlling $6 billion in assets, with a 15-year tenure in technology and real estate development, Prime provides customers with ownership options and dynamic leasing models, defining a true corporate partnership.

About the role

The Controls Manager is responsible for the operational performance, maintenance, reliability, and strategic development of Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), and related controls platforms across Prime Data Centers' portfolio. The role partners with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Commissioning, and Operations teams to ensure mission-critical systems operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Prime standards.

What you'll do Operations & Reliability
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of BMS, EPMS, and DCIM systems across multiple data center facilities.
  • Ensure all control systems, integrations, and monitoring platforms operate reliably and accurately.
  • Lead troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective action efforts for controls-related issues.
  • Support critical facility operations and provide technical guidance during equipment failures and emergency events.
  • Manage controls standards, procedures, and governance for BAS/BMS/EPMS/DCIM systems.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for controls architecture, integration, automation, and monitoring platforms.
  • Lead modifications and optimization projects to improve facility efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, test procedures, MOPs, and change management records.
  • Support new construction, phased expansions, retrofits, and facility upgrades from a controls perspective.
  • Review controls designs, sequences of operation, network architectures, points lists, and equipment submittals.
  • Participate in commissioning activities and validate controls performance during startup and turnover.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, and integrators during implementation and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze operational trends, alarms, power utilization, and system performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, energy reduction, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Support implementation of emerging technologies and enhancements to Prime's controls standards.
Qualifications Required Operations & Reliability

  • Competitive salary range from $150-175k along with an annual performance bonus program
  • 401k fully vested upon enrollment, up to a 4% employer match
