Job description

The Evening Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily janitorial operations across assigned facilities, ensuring quality standards, safety requirements, and client expectations are consistently met. This position provides direct supervision and support to frontline janitorial staff and subcontractors while performing regular inspections, coordinating supply deliveries, maintaining inventory levels, and preparing operational reports. The Janitorial Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Coordinator.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStaff and Subcontractor Management
  • Supervise, train, and support frontline janitorial personnel.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, corrective action, and recognition as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with company standards and contract requirements.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and coverage for absences or special projects.
  • Promote a positive work environment and maintain professional relationships with employees, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Inventory and Supply Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for cleaning supplies, equipment, and consumables.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and submit supply requests as needed.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to assigned locations and ensure proper distribution.
  • Monitor usage trends and recommend adjustments to maintain adequate stock levels while controlling costs.
  • Floor Care Operations
  • Possess working knowledge of floor care procedures, including stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and carpet maintenance.
  • Inspect floor care work to ensure quality standards are achieved..
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare and submit inspection reports, inventory reports, incident reports, and other operational documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, staffing issues, and service concerns.
  • Communicate regularly with the Operations Coordinator regarding operational performance, staffing needs, and client feedback.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all staff follow safety procedures and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Conduct safety observations and address hazards promptly.
  • Support company initiatives related to workplace safety, training, and regulatory compliance.
  • Qualifications
  • Speak, ready, write in English
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in janitorial, custodial, facility services, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, and floor care procedures.
  • Experience supervising frontline employees and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Ability to perform inspections and maintain quality control standards.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and report preparation.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, clients, and subcontractors.
