JOB PURPOSE: The Operations Estimation Manager (OEM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the estimation process related to operational changes, including change orders, additions, deletions, and other related tasks. This role ensures accurate, timely, and cost-effective estimations that support the company’s operational goals. The Operations Estimation Manager collaborates closely with various departments to manage estimation activities, streamline processes, and ensure alignment with project requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Oversee Estimation Processes: 
  • Manage and supervise the estimation team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all estimates. 
  • Review and approve all change orders, additions, and deletions related to operations, ensuring they align with project budgets and timelines. 
  • Analyze and evaluate estimation data, providing recommendations to optimize costs and improve efficiency. 
  • Collaboration and Coordination: 
  • Work closely with project managers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotes for materials and services. 
  • Ensure clear communication between all parties involved in the estimation process. 
  • Process Improvement: 
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the estimation process. 
  • Develop and maintain estimation standards, guidelines, and best practices. 
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements in estimation tools and techniques to keep the company at the forefront of operational estimation. 
  • Reporting and Analysis: 
  • Prepare and present detailed estimation reports to senior management, highlighting key findings, cost implications, and recommendations. 
  • Track and analyze estimation metrics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. 
  • Team Leadership and Development: 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the estimation team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide regular feedback to team members. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proven experience in an estimation or project management role, preferably within the construction or operations industry. 
  • Strong understanding of change orders, additions, and deletions within an operational context. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data and make informed decisions. 
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders. 
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing and developing teams. 
  • Certification in project management or a related field. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, adaptability and resilience in a wide variety of work situations. 
  • Nature of business results in many tight or continually changing deadlines. 
  • General office environment, with low to medium noise, low to medium heat and cold, and low to medium dust levels. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
