Job Title: Estimating Manager – Utility-Scale Renewables
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Duration: Fulltime
Job Description:
A leading renewable energy EPC contractor is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead estimating efforts for major utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the U.S. This role is a key part of the company’s growth strategy and will drive the preparation of accurate, competitive, and winning proposals for large-scale clean energy developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of estimators focused on delivering high-quality, detailed cost estimates.
- Review RFPs, project documents, and site information to build comprehensive bid strategies.
- Oversee the estimating process from the project kickoff through proposal submission.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and competitive.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align proposals with real world project delivery.
- Manage and continuously improve cost databases, historical pricing, and market trends.
- Provide pricing strategies and risk assessments to support executive decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline estimating workflows and tools for long-term efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred (minimum High School Diploma or GED required).
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Minimum 2 years of estimating experience specifically on utility-scale solar projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and team management skills.
- Proven ability to develop competitive pricing strategies for large-scale projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Additional Details:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
- Occasional travel to project sites.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
