Chief Electrical Estimator

Location: Indianapolis, IN, Denver, CO or Charlotte, NC (this is not a remote position)


Compensation & Benefits:

SUMMARY

The Chief Electrical Estimatordirects theestimatingdepartment and establishes technical standards and procedures. The Estimating Director has overall responsibility for the training and staffing ofthe estimatingdepartment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Management
    • Provide ongoing supervision and accountability for the Stop Gate estimating processes.
    • Enforce InPwr Inc. policies and procedures specific to Human Resources guidelines.
    • Continually assess estimating personnel as it applies to individual's job qualifications, performance, and compensation evaluations.

    • Promote and reinforce InPwr core values to all personnel.
    • Value highly collaborative solution-oriented relationships with departmental Directors of Project Management, General Superintendents, Project Coordination, Human Resources, Engineering, and Design.
  • Training
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with customers regarding the customer RFP and InPwr bid proposal processes, including but not limited to the following:
    • Managing customer expectations regarding bid deadlines and proposal deliverable.
    • Reviewing bid proposal documents for follow-up RFI and general questions.
  • Negotiating with vendor partners, including manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors.
  • Effectively communicating and executing strategies regarding bid proposal follow-up efforts and bid results.


Estimating Overview:

  • Executing all estimating processes and personnel
  • Strategize new bid opportunities by collaborating with Business Development personnel, project managers, and/or designated account managers and preconstruction support.
  • Lead and organize new bid estimate strategy planning sessions.
  • Implement and maintain quality control of the Stop Gate 1 process.
  • Assign estimating tasks based on the experience and aptitude of personnel.
  • Develop and monitor preliminary and final InPwr scope price proposals.
  • Supervision of all customer bid documentation, including RFP, construction drawings, specifications, and supplemental vendor documentation.
  • Supervision of all InPwr subcontractor and vendor quotations and preliminary submittals supporting the bid proposal process.
  • Supervision of all requirements specific to the Authority Having Jurisdiction, local utility company requirements, state and local requirements superseding or supplemental to NEC requirements.
  • Ongoing and final review and analysis of all estimates and project deliverables.
  • Provide oversight and or perform control takeoff estimates and change order budget pricing as requested from and in coordination with project managers.
  • Weekly update of bid tracking documentation for estimating purposes.
  • Weekly updating of senior leadership to current bid project status.
  • Weekly updating information for the global Confidential List.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • (10) Years of electrical industry estimating experience.
  • Possess at minimum (1) Master's electrical license.
    • Effectively communicating interdepartmental coordination of project deliverables.
    • Electrical Industry Expertise and General Knowledge
      • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical theory.
      • Proficient skills in reading construction drawings, specifications, electrical submittals.
      • Extensive experience in layout of electrical equipment and systems.
      • Expertise in design and engineering concepts specifically diagrammatic one lines, load calculations, feeder and branch circuit analysis.

Working/ Environment/ Physical Demands tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Job Requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities.
  • Work in restricted areas.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required.
  • Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40-50 hours per week.
