Job description

Velaris is a manufacturer of high-quality automated analyzers for the laboratory and process industries. The company consists of multiple well-known brands such as Skalar, EST Analytical, Promochrom, Gerstel, TE instruments, LCTech and Markes International. Velaris has grown into a multinational organization with subsidiaries in most European countries and North America. Our analyzers are mostly used in a variety of laboratories, such environmental laboratories, universities, drinking and wastewater treatment facilities, food industries, pharmaceutical and agriculture.

We are looking to add a Technical Support Engineer for our Cincinnati,OH location.

Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support via phone and email.
  • Create support tickets using our CRM database and follow up on open tickets on a timely basis.
  • Escalate problems to 2nd tier support when required.
  • Provide remote assistance for software diagnostics using TeamViewer and other tools.
  • Perform repairs and prepare loaner equipment.
  • Assist our field service engineers with sending parts/tools when required.
  • Focus is on our combustion analyzers (carbon, nitrogen, sulfur).

Requirements:

  • Associateโ€™s degree in electronics, megatronics, chemistry/chemical engineering or equivalent, a Bachelorโ€™s degree in chemistry/chemical engineering is preferred. An electronics degree is acceptable if it is accompanied with chemistry/analytical laboratory experience.
  • Previous experience with C/N combustion analyzers is a definite plus.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation.
  • Affinity towards learning new software programs.
  • Ability to provide first line technical customer support via phone and email.
  • Reliable and dependable, self-motivated, capable of working unsupervised as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
