Job Description
The Essential Skills Coordinator will serve both promising and hard-to-place participants. It is vital that the Essential Skills Coordinator helps participants overcome barriers, facilitates an effective transition through the program, and prepares participants for life after graduation. The Essential Skills Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of EnRich.
This position will deliver the expansion of programming in Essential Skills with a concentration on students enrolled in Richland Community College's Workforce Training programs.
The position will be critical in linking school staff and community resource providers to ensure that participants have access to available services. The Essential Skills Coordinator will work with other Coordinators to ensure that career assessments, intake, career counseling, and career exploration activities are done to benefit both the grants and participants.
The Essential Skills Coordinator will instruct students in the Essential Skills curriculum using a methodical plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, seminars, case studies, field assignments, and independent or group projects. Prepare, administer, and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress. Provide individualized lesson/corrective instruction. Occasional community work and recruitment activities. Conduct coaching sessions with leaders and students to develop their skills supporting the College's mission, vision, and core values. The candidate will research and apply best practices for delivering training content, anticipate issues in training materials, and proactively develop solutions. This is a grant-funded position and is subject to continued funding
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field, and a certification and/or experience working with trauma-sensitive populations is required. 2-5 years of previous experience working with students in a target population is required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The candidate should possess strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to embrace and drive change. Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail are necessary. Computer skills are essential, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Excellent verbal skills, written communication skills, ability to write/prepare reports, and to make connections within the community. The incumbent must be able to work effectively as a team member and contributor. Highly experienced with project coordinating and management; proven track record of ability to work strategically and collaboratively across administrative offices and in a complex environment; effective, versatile, and action-oriented; detail-oriented and data-driven.

โ€ข Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, stooping, and occasional lifting of objects up to 10 lbs.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. There may be irregular hours periodically including weekend and/or evening/morning hours for recruitment events, media events, preparing instructional materials, and meetings. The position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement after the 120-day probationary period is successfully met.
TRAVEL
Traveling to local events and local organizations/businesses may be necessary. Some instate travel maybe required.
