Position Overview:
The Loan Officer Assistant supports loan officers by gathering, reviewing, and verifying borrower documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. The Loan Officer Assistant is responsible for preparing and processing loan applications, disclosures, contracts, and related materials in accordance with federal regulations. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the mortgage lending industry while contributing to positive client outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist loan officers in gathering, reviewing, and verifying borrower documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and process loan applications, disclosures, contracts, and related paperwork in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Conduct preliminary credit analysis and assist with underwriting processes by organizing financial data and supporting risk assessments.
  • Utilize basic math skills and 10-key typing proficiency to accurately calculate figures related to escrow accounts, payments, and amortization schedules.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in loan origination or mortgage processing within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, underwriting procedures, and mortgage servicing practices.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations to ensure fair lending practices are upheld.
  • Proficiency in basic math, including calculations related to loans, escrow accounts, and amortization schedules.
  • Excellent credit analysis skills with an understanding of credit reports and financial documentation review.
  • Excellent organizational skills with consistent effectiveness in handling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in operating standard office equipment including 10-key typing devices with high accuracy.
