About the job:
Do you have strong organizational and communication skills and enjoy working with a team in a fast-paced setting? Near North is looking for a Residential Escrow Assistant to assist a talented Escrow department throughout each stage of the closing process to successfully finalize real estate transactions, while exhibiting a positive attitude and willingness to learn. We provide a collaborative, energetic, team environment. Our company is a growing title insurance operation with multi-state market presence and national outreach.
As the Residential Escrow Assistant, you will support members of the Escrow team in a professional and helpful manner. You will order mortgage payoffs and review title commitments when needed, consult with examiners and other key parties to settle issues, prepare closing files, make requests for necessary information, set up and retrieve documents in SoftPro, and much more. No experience necessary but must be eager to learn and be trainable.
What you bring to the table:
  • 1+ years of title/escrow experience highly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Administrative or operations support experience preferred.
  • Fast-learner with a positive attitude and able to succeed in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SoftPro experience is a plus.
  • Superior multi-tasking, organizational, attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Interpersonal with strong written and verbal communication skills.
You’ll be working on:
  • Provide excellent customer support by answering phone calls/emails and responding to inquiries.
  • Reviewing title commitments to verify vesting and legal description for accuracy, including spelling of names. Verifying that commitments match information given us by customers, purchase agreements, and surveys, plus verifying taxes.
  • Consulting with examiners, lenders and/or principals in reconciling discrepancies between instructions and title commitments.
  • Scheduling closings.
  • Reviewing closing packages.
  • Disbursing files.
  • Setting up amp; retrieving recordable Documents for E-Recording through SoftPro.
  • Preparing closing files for Escrow Closers.
  • Monitoring Escrow inbox.
  • Preparing Prelim CDs and beginning to process the final CD.
  • Requesting Seller Figures amp; Lender packages.
  • Marketing to include social media and in-person events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
