Position Summary

We are seeking an ERP Business Process Manager to drive data integrity and operational flow for our Final Assembly Line (FAL). Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and Process Control, you will govern the lifecycle of SAP master data across PP, MM, and QM modules while actively monitoring cross-functional business processes. This role requires a unique blend of deep SAP technical expertise and continuous improvement methodology. You will actively resolve production-blocking points, collaborate with technical teams to automate ERP workflows, and train stakeholders to ensure plant execution aligns with compliance and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

1. Production Process Supervision and Support

  • Serve as the on-the-ground SAP process expert for the satellite final assembly line (FAL), ensuring daily production operations are executed correctly within the ERP system.

  • Monitor cross-functional business process execution in real time, detecting deviations and intervening proactively to prevent disruptions to the production flow.

  • Resolve in a timely manner any blocking points related to business processes, ensuring continuous and compliant flow of operations for the FAL.

  • Act as the first point of contact for process-related issues raised by production, planning, quality, finance, supply chain and logistics teams, providing hands-on guidance and resolution.

  • Advise process owners when executed processes are not aligned with designed processes and escalate misalignments for corrective action.

2. Process Expertise and End User Training

  • Develop and maintain deep, practical knowledge of all SAP ERP business processes relevant to the FAL, encompassing but not limited to production planning, procurement, logistics, and material management.

  • Design, deliver, and continuously update training programs for end users across all organizational levels and functions, ensuring correct and consistent process execution.

  • Create and maintain clear, up-to-date process documentation, and "How To's" (using tools such as Visio) to support knowledge transfer and operational continuity.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to business stakeholders on best practices.

  • Support the onboarding and upskilling of new team members or system users to ensure rapid and correct adoption of SAP processes.

3. Material Management and Master Data 

  • Reviewing master data accuracy, identify the root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain data integrity.

  • Monitor the material creation process to mitigate risk by ensuring that new materials are completed correctly and according to schedule.

  • Ensure accurate and timely implementation of cross-functional business processes through process control methods, providing guidance where needed.

4. Continuous Improvement and ERP Processes Optimization

  • Once processes are stabilized and mastered, identify opportunities to streamline, automate, or improve ERP workflows in collaboration with the SAP technical team.

  • Contribute to value stream mapping activities to streamline cross-functional business processes.

  • Support process owners in the deployment or improvement of business processes.

  • Work with the SAP technical team to develop new processes or further automate existing ones based on demonstrated operational needs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience (typically 3-5 years of direct SAP master data experience in a regulated manufacturing environment).
  • Preferred: Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (APICS CPIM).

Technical Systems Proficiency:

Required:

  • Core SAP Expertise; strong, in-depth knowledge of SAP ERP systems, specifically with the Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), and Quality Management (QM) modules, with demonstrated ability to execute end-to-end production processes.

  • Proficient in SAP Master Data Structure and able to guide business stakeholders on master data and ERP-related process compliance and entry standards.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (including data parsing, lookups, and macros) for data reporting.

  • Ability to quickly master additional tools that integrate with SAP and related ERP business processes.

  • Solid knowledge of best practice standards for manufacturing processes.

Skills / Expertise:

  • Basic practical knowledge of the business processes for manufacturing and testing engineering, production planning, manufacturing and testing execution, quality management, procurement, logistics, and material management.

  • Proficient in communicating across various organizational levels, cultures, and departments.

  • Strong networking and relationship building skills.

  • Experienced in problem-solving and troubleshooting, with a hands-on, field-oriented approach.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience:

Required:

  • At least six years of experience working directly in the SAP ERP system in a Production environment, experience working across multiple Production related modules.

  • 3–5 years of dedicated master data management experience in SAP within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in process control and the documentation of processes (using tools such as Visio).

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense regulatory frameworks (e.g., AS9100, ITAR, EAR).

Travel:

Required:

  • 10% Domestic and International
  • Active U. S. Passport strongly preferred.

Citizenship:

  • Must be U.S. person under ITAR regulations.

Clearance:

  • Eligibility to receive a DoD SECRET clearance preferred.

Working conditions/physical effort

  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 90%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings throughout the business day and after hours as required.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms throughout the business day and after hours as required for meetings, telecons, telephone.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment throughout the business day and after hours as required.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs as required.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs as required.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools, occasional.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. 80% of time in meetings and computer workstation.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving, rarely.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices, conducting presentations or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice, 10% domestic/international for proposal coordination.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces across campus.
