Era Clt information

What are Era CLTs?

Era CLTs, or Era Community Land Trusts, are organizations that acquire and hold land to ensure it remains affordable and accessible for community benefit, often focusing on housing, local businesses, or green spaces. Their primary goal is to prevent land speculation and displacement by separating land ownership from building ownership. Residents or organizations lease the land while owning or managing the structures, promoting long-term affordability, stability, and community control. Era CLTs often partner with local governments and nonprofits to achieve these aims. They play an important role in addressing housing affordability and fostering sustainable neighborhoods.
