Firm Overview:
KSL Capital Partners, LLC ("KSL") is a leading global private equity firm specializing in travel and leisure enterprises. KSL specializes in investments across five primary sectors: hospitality, recreation, clubs, real estate, and travel services. KSL has approximately $23 billion of assets under management across its equity, debt, and tactical opportunities funds and has completed over 185 investments since 2005. These investments include some of the premier businesses and properties in travel and leisure globally.
Today, KSL has offices in Denver, Colorado; Stamford, Connecticut; New York City, New York; and London, England.
Role:
KSL is seeking a qualified candidate to join the private equity investment team as an Associate. Associates play an important role in the execution of new investments, and the management of existing portfolio companies. Associates will help their deal team throughout the screening, underwriting and deal execution process and will work with one-to-two deal team leads who hold the title of Partner or Principal. The Associate is expected to build relationships both externally and internally. The Associate will work closely with all constituents of KSL's organization, including our Strategic Operating team, investment committee members, credit fund colleagues and others.
Responsibilities:
KSL believes in a collaborative approach to finding new investments and managing existing investments. We expect our employees to work together, partnering across regions and investing strategies to share the perspectives and insights that make KSL the world's leading travel and leisure investor.
Specific duties of the Associate include:
1. Performing company and sub-sector due diligence, including risk assessment and quantitative & qualitative analysis of business and market trends
2. Monitoring existing portfolio companies, evaluating platform and add-on acquisitions and evaluating exit options
3. Presenting and participating in investment committee meetings, including communicating analyses effectively to senior investment professionals
4. Conducting financial modeling and analysis incorporating various business projections and capital structures, while stress testing critical assumptions
5. Assist the firm with additional ad hoc projects
Desired Skills and Experience:
KSL is seeking an individual with prior work experience in finance or investing roles, though experience in a similar field such as consulting is accepted. Experience working with or within the travel and leisure industry is beneficial but not required.
KSL is seeking to hire a candidate that has:
1. Obtained an undergraduate degree from the class of 2024 or prior with an excellent academic record and a demonstrated interest in finance through previous work experience and coursework
2. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
3. Ability to think critically with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications
4. Capacity for collaborative work but also the ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
5. Proven ability to be proactive and is an organized self-starter with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and intense attention to detail
