Job Description:

The Senior BizTalk Developer analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, and documents SOA based solutions, including interface components, web services, graphical screens, reports and data objects/services. Participate in all phases of the software development cycle. The incumbent is responsible for software engineering for new and existing products and works with the entire SOA Center Team to ensure development conforms to performance optimization and interoperability standards and requirements. Working with other SOA Center staff, this individual will:

Plan: Assist solution architects in translating requirements into technical specifications and data models for all assigned SOA projects and work efforts. Create enterprise development standards for SOA services. Consult with IT staff on incorporating new technology standards into future projects. Ability to investigate, research and implement new technologies in SOA related areas.

Implement: Design, code, test, and implement complex SOA-based solutions; develop appropriate documentation according to established standards for all assigned SOA projects and work efforts.

Track: Periodically meet with the project team to assess project requirements and the impact of change requests on project delivery timeline for all assigned SOA projects.

Maintain: Plan, schedule, and conduct decision support systems tests; monitor test results, and take required corrective action for all assigned SOA projects.

Support: Work with the NCDOT Helpdesk, Web services Support and Development to provide 3rd tier support when issues cannot be resolved at a lower level. Work with DOT Operations & EPS group to triage & maintain SOA Center Solutions when issues occur. Provide technical direction, training and knowledge transfer to other non-SOA developers; coordinate/conduct structured walkthroughs and formal code reviews for non-SOA developer's adherence to current coding standards. Provide reports on project development status to SOA Center Leads on a regular and timely basis

Provide technical consultation in new SOA based systems development, and enhancement of existing systems for other DOT development teams; Aid in systems development planning and monitoring

Skills Required:

Experience developing SOA-Based enterprise solutions using BizTalk

Experience developing XML Schemas and Namespaces

Extensive knowledge and experience in developing WCF (WSI-compliant) Web Services

Experience eveloping BizTalk Orchestrations and itineraries.

Experience developing business rules and invoking business rules from web services

Knowledge of relational databases and data extraction tools.

Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
