POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence performs the duties of a Business Intelligence Developer with minimal supervision. They meet with the Manager of Reporting and Analytics to set standards and practices for all Reporting team members to follow. Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff members. They are responsible for leading cross functional teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units. They research new functions provided by our software vendor to provide innovative data solutions. Works with third party vendors and contacts to transfer data to meet business needs. Possesses strong operational knowledge of the organization. The Epic Senior Business Intelligence Developer is required to provide off-hours on-call support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Consistently documents work and engages in improved documentation initiatives
  • Assumes Project Management role for Analytics projects as assigned by Reporting Manager
  • Reviewing peer reports for validity.
  • Identifying and validating the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several tasks independently
  • Ability to consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Analyzing new functionality in releases to determine how it will affect reports
  • Working with vendor representatives and organization's business community and end users to ensure the reports meet the organization's business needs
  • Troubleshooting problems and questions from end users
  • Presenting information through reports and visualization
  • Mentors less experienced BID's in functional, technical, and professional development activities.

Other Responsibilities:
All other responsibilities as assigned in accordance with qualifications.
Qualification, Education, Knowledge, Skills:
Qualifications: Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills. Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts, Proficiency in writing stored procedures, custom views and custom functions. Proficiency and demonstrated experience with report writing tools, Ability to determine data structures that benefit the entire reporting environment. Proven leadership abilities.
Required: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Epic software or Healthcare analytics
Preferred: 5+ years of Epic report writing experience
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Required: Holds a current Epic Certification in Caboodle, Cogito, and/or Clarity
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Science, or related technical field experience

In hospital environment, the individual may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements, which may include but are not limited to bloodborne pathogens and / or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials which may require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment.
This position can expect overnight travel by land and/or air according to the requirements below:
Normal business hours are: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. However, schedules may vary by business necessity. Remote workers are expected to be available during normal business hours, unless otherwise approved by the department leader(s).
